Our annual sponsored walks are a special way to mark Carers Week - held from 8-14 June 2026.

Unpaid carers can be any age! Children and young people with a caring role at home are called young carers. They help support and look after a parent or sibling with a disability or long-term illness.

Here at GYGYC (part of Caring Together Charity from 1 April 2026) we give these children time off, opportunities to unwind and have fun, opportunities to make friends, and breaks from caring. It makes a world of difference to them to have this specialist support.

Our sponsored walks raise awareness of young carers and raise vital funds to provide this help for local children and young people.
