The Jedis are a community sports club for young people, aged 5-18, based in East London. We provide activities for youth engagement, offer grassroots development and nurture talent. With participation our priority, we wish to become a positive influence in the local community, on- and off-court, not just in Hackney but in London and beyond. Our club values are HARD WORK, RESPECT, FRIENDSHIP.
Our club was formed in 2014. Having started with six regular U12s attendees, we have proudly grown into a local club of 200+ members with 9 squads (U10s to U18s; 80/20 split of boys/girls). We run 12 training sessions each week at Stoke Newington School and our teams compete in the National League and Community Basketball League.
Thanks to your kind donations and generous partnerships with YES charity, we have enjoyed gradual expansion, more recently the growth of our girls squads. Retaining affordable play space continues to be a hurdle for many community clubs securing home court base would mean stability and more time for outreach. Onwards!
YES provides vital financial support to sports clubs, youth centers and sports charities who align with their mission to empower young people in East London and ignite their potential through grass roots sports.
