The enormous joy of making music together with others is like nothing else and everyone should be able to experience it freely. We are therefore organizing an annual come-and-sing Handel's 'Messiah', free to singers and supported by a band of professional musicians.

Imagine you are a baby born today in South Hackney. You might miss this first performance or you might sleep through it but as you grow up, you will come to see and hear this great choral work, Handel's 'Messiah', performed on your doorstep every year by your friends, family and neighbours. Then one day, it might be your turn to sing in the choir or to sit by one of the orchestra members with you new violin or 'cello, perhaps just joining in just a few choruses at first. Over the years, you will be encouraged and nurtured in this friendly, supportive and familiar environment and have lots of fun while you're about it.

The funds we seek to raise are to pay a modest fee to our 40-50 wonderful and generous musicians and to cover timpani and score hire.
