Poor little Bullet. Came into the care of Happy Staffie Rescue on 1 June 2019 with all sorts of problems including rotten teeth and even worse he had two lumps on his gum. After a biopsy one of these is confirmed as a canine oral tumour known as a peripheral odontogenic fibroma.
The histology from Bullets mass on the left lower premolar area showed it to be a peripheral odontogenic fibroma (previously known as fibromatous epuli of the periodontal ligament which are the ligaments which hold the tooth in the jaw). This is one of the most common canine oral tumours. Complete excision is usually curative, although recurrences are fairly common when margins are not clear. Several of these tumours can develop in the oral cavity.
Our veterinary practice are supporting us by discounting the treatment as much as they can but we are still looking at veterinary treatment that will cost us £1,417 - £1,527.
As an organisation that is committed to offering the best welfare to all the dogs in our care we have agreed to go ahead with his life saving op. Finding the funds to cover the cost is something we are willing to face head on. When it comes to caring for dogs our volunteers will always rise to the challenge to make sure we can cover our bills. They are already planning events to help bring in funds and hope we can find some wonderful supporters to help. This is why Bullet now has his own life saving fundraising page and we hope we can find like minded people to help support Bullet.
If you can help with the costs of his treatment we would be grateful for any donations we can get at this time. Even if it is just £1 it will help us chip away at the cost. If just one in 40 of our Facebook followers alone gave a pound we would have all the treatment covered. If you can give more please do, we and more importantly Bullet will be grateful of the second chance.
Any amount raised that exceeds his treatment costs while he is in our care will be used solely for welfare costs such as veterinary costs of other dogs, foods, treats, bedding, etc.
THANK YOU
