Story

Mental health is immensely important to maintaining operational capability within the Armed Forces and Emergency Services. Just like the maintenance and repair of equipment is vital, the good mental health of personnel is an absolute requirement for an effective unit. Submarine Engineering Officer Harrison Holland (Dutchy) will, therefore, be fundraising for the charity Yompathon, which raises money for a selection of mental health causes.

He will be hiking solo and unsupported across the entirety of the Alps from Munich to Venice in August, a distance of 570km. This arduous route includes crossing the Karwendel and the exposed Glungezer-Lizumer ridge. Total ascent will be 26,300 metres, equivalent to climbing Everest from base camp to summit 7.5 times.

Any donations would be very gratefully received.
