Hi Everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to visit Harris’s JustGiving page.
We have set up this JustGiving page to raise money for our amazing Son Harris. Harris was born in Glasgow on 4th June 2020 with a diaphragmatic hernia. Following this he was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition called 1P36 deletion syndrome. This means he has epilepsy, global development delay and feeding difficulties to name a few. Even though Harris’s epilepsy is currently under control each day faces its own challenges as Harris grows and we strive to meet his care needs. Every day is such a worry for us and comes with its ups and downs!
What Harris needs is regular, consistent therapy to help improve his quality of life and allow him to reach his full potential. Our family don’t know what Harris’s potential is but we will never give up trying to get the best out of him to allow him to live the best, happiest, most fulfilled life as possible. We are hoping to raise enough money to take Harris to an intensive physiotherapy centre in Oxford called ‘Footsteps’. This consists of 2 hours of therapy each day for 2 weeks this summer. This intensive therapy will hopefully help to build Harris’s overall strength and muscle tone to allow him to sit unaided, play with toys and hopefully one day, walk! This therapy is expensive and is very far away from home therefore accommodation for the duration is required. In addition to this we would like to be able to continue sending Harris for regular physiotherapy on his return home where he can continue the hard work.
We have previously attended Footsteps and the progress Harris has made each time is amazing. This gives us a lot of hope for the future and allows us to believe our son will achieve all these important milestones in his own time. With a lot of hard work, perseverance and with your help we will do our best to help Harris reach his potential.
Thank you so much x
