Story
Harry's Mates charity aims to empower adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, socially, creatively, economically and sustainably in safe and encouraging environments within the local community.
We seek to do this through several services:
- Harry's Place CIC and Harry's at 387: our two social enterprise cafes, that provide training and paid employment;
- Harry's Hangout: our day opportunity service that offers meaningful day activities through a wide range of exciting social and educational activities, and;
- Harry's Mates: our evening social hub, where likeminded individuals come together to socialise and find community.
With the expansion of our services, we have quickly outgrown our current premises, so we identified the Ballynahinch Market House as the perfect place to call home. Having recently secured the long term lease of the Market House, we are in the process of migrating our day and evening services across, but the building is currently ill-equipped for a café and kitchen.
This is where we need your help... with the required amount of funding, we will be able to replicate our beloved Harry's Place CIC and build a state of the art training kitchen and café/bakery. The perfect work environment in the heart of Ballynahinch, for our Mates to train, work and gain paid employment.
It doesn't matter how big or small your donation is. Every penny helps!
