We would like to create a Community Hub in Hertford that will serve as a safe physical connection space for isolated individuals who suffer from addiction, but are abstinent and in recovery. Although a recovering addict may be able to function without drugs and alcohol, they still may be a long way off from getting back into work and 'normal life'. This project aims to bridge the gap between addicts becoming abstinent and addicts becoming ready for work and life on life's terms. Through work experience, volunteering, connection with other recovering people, workshops, training, psycho-education, therapy and general relationship building we aim to give all addicts the skills, tools and self-esteem to thrive in a life and community that is meaningful and rewarding.
