Annual Charity Walk

Date: Sunday, 19th May 2024

Time: 9:45am (meet 9.30am)

Start Point: Shalford Park, Shalford Road, Guildford GU4 8BL

Route options: 1.6km, 5km and 10km

Dogs and children welcome! (well behaved)

We will meet in the Shalford Park Car park at 9.30am, look out for a Headway T-shirt or flag. Sonja (Team Organiser) will be walking 10km, but you are welcome to walk the shorter or longer route.

There is plenty of free parking available, also toilets and refreshments at the start and finish.

We haven't tried the 1.6km walk, but believe this to be around the perimeter of Shalford Park on grass, so probably fairly flat.

The 5km and 10km walk is on uneven ground and has some steps over a footbridge, it isn't suitable for wheelchairs. Children's buggies if carried - yes, and those with mobility issues, yes, if they can manage rough ground and steps. The walk is along the river bank, through fields, footpaths and lovely scenic countryside. The 10km map from last year is below.

We usually have a great time, walking at a moderate pace, talking and enjoying the scenery.
