Healing Hearts, Saving Lives: Support the Syria Medical Mission

Syria’s health system is collapsing. This July, UK-based Syrian doctors will perform life-saving surgeries across key cities. We aim to raise £150,000 to fund operations, equipment, and logistics. Support now—your donation can save a life.

Founded by two British born Syrian businessmen HIHFAD has grown to become one of the most well respected and leading charities operating inside Syria. Story

A Healthcare System on the Brink

After more than a decade of conflict, Syria’s healthcare system is on the verge of collapse. Across the country, many governorates fall short of even the minimum number of health workers required to serve their populations. Hospitals are overwhelmed, medical equipment is outdated, and resources are running dangerously low.

According to the Health Cluster (affiliated with WHO Syria), 172 healthcare facilities are either already affected or projected to face severe funding shortages by the end of May. For thousands of Syrians with urgent and life-threatening conditions, access to essential healthcare is rapidly disappearing.

There is a critical shortage of specialists in cardiac surgery, gynecology, pediatric care, oncology, and trauma services. Many families have lost hope. But TOGETHER, we can change that.

This July, a team of highly specialized Syrian doctors from the UK—leaders in their fields—are conducting a trip to Syria with one purpose: to save lives.

Under the supervision of the Syrian Ministry of Health, the Syrian British Medical Society (SBMS), in collaboration with Hand in Hand for Aid and Development, will carry out life-saving surgeries in multiple cities, including Aleppo, Latakia, and Homs.

Over the course of three weeks, this mission will deliver:

- Cardiac surgeries (including CABG, Valve repair/replacement and Aortic surgery)

- Cardiology Interventional procedures (catheterizations, stents, cardio physiology)

- Breast and Gynecological oncology surgeries for women batting cancer.

- Complex pediatric operations (for children in urgent need)

We Need Your Support – £150,000 Goal

To make this mission a success, we urgently need to raise £150,000 to:

- Sponsor high-risk surgeries that families cannot afford

- Provide life-saving medical equipment and supplies

- Cover logistics and hospital operating costs

- Every pound you give directly supports a life-saving operation.

Real People. Real Hope. Real Impact.

💔 In Latakia, a father of three collapsed from a severe heart attack. Thanks to emergency cardiac catheterization and bypass surgery, his life was saved. Without this intervention, his children might have lost their only provider.

💔 In Aleppo, a newborn baby was born with a congenital urethral deformity. A simple surgical procedure could give him the chance to live a normal, healthy life—but only if we can secure the resources in time.

💔 In Homs, a woman diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer still has a fighting chance. With prompt surgery to remove the tumor, she could be completely cured—but the clock is ticking.
