Story
This trauma-informed, relational health hub in Liskeard, Cornwall will be of benefit to the whole community. This project to transform an under-utilised 4 acre plot, will directly improve the health and wellbeing of people with limited access to green spaces by delivering therapeutic activities in nature as part of mental health or trauma recovery.
The Healing by Nature site at Trevillis House, a community mental health team base run by Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, will offer greener ways to cope with the difficulties of life. We will drive hands into soil, share homegrown and homecooked food, and support self-management of symptoms, all set within a beautiful and inspiring natural environment in the Cornish countryside.
“Healing by Nature will help me get out more and help with the feeling of isolation, help build my confidence and self esteem. Having people around me for support that have lived experience will really help, as they understand what it's like to have these daily battles.”
