Story
Health Haven is more than a health programme – it's a lifeline for adults in Camden.
Since launching in May 2023, Health Haven has transformed community health by offering wellness activities and workshops to over 200 people with long-term conditions, mental health challenges, and those seeking better well-being. In collaboration with local doctors, Health Haven empowers individuals to take control of their health while easing pressure on the NHS.
With funding secured only until October 2025, this vital service faces the risk of closure without your support. Help us build healthier futures in Camden—donate to Health Haven today!
Why There is a Need for Health Haven:
The NHS faces immense pressure from rising waiting lists and limited resources, exacerbated by long-term conditions, mental health challenges, and social isolation. Health Haven tackles these issues directly, offering exercise classes like circuit training, Pilates, and yoga, alongside cooking workshops, weight loss sessions, mindfulness programmes, social clubs, monthly health talks, and wellbeing initiatives. In its first year alone:
• 77% of members reported improved physical health.
• 80% saw an improvement in their mental health.
• 65% felt less alone and built new friendships.
One client, referred by a social prescriber, faced significant challenges with anxiety, depression, and significant life changes. After attending our weekly mindfulness sessions, they shared how attending Health Haven sessions
“improved their mental health, boosted their confidence to access additional support, and helped them regain control over their life.”
