A Lifesaving Shock: Why We Need Your Help
When someone collapses in cardiac arrest, every second counts. A defibrillator can restart a heart and save a life. For Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team, this small but vital piece of kit is something we carry on every callout. Whether we’re rescuing an injured walker from Pen y Fan or searching for someone missing in the valleys, our defibs are there, ready to save lives.
But right now, our defibrillators are reaching the end of their operational life. To replace them, we need to raise £9,000. As a voluntary team, we receive no government funding and rely entirely on donations from people like you.
Every year, it costs around £60,000 just to keep Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team running. That covers everything from vehicle maintenance and rescue equipment to medical supplies and training, allowing our volunteers to answer the call, whatever the weather, 24/7.
Your donation won’t just help buy a new defibrillator, it could help save a life.
