Dear Friends of Birthright,

As I sit in our Eureka office, I am amazed at our blessings. Our office is abundantly stocked with diapers, baby clothing, and modern goods for pregnancy. Not only that, but already this year our office has helped a mother feel safe to choose life. A client who was already utilizing our services regularly has found herself with a surprise fifth pregnancy, while her fourth child is still a babe in arms. She mentioned the “a-word” – abortion – and got us all in a tizzy. She already uses many resources, she is relying on her partner for income, and is overwhelmed at the thought of another baby. We pulled out all the stops, reaching out often, offering encouragement, supplies, and love. She has chosen life!

The blessings just keep coming. In 2024 we started the year with six church and charitable groups wanting to hold collections for us. This is significantly more than usual! Because we always say, “God provides!” we wondered. Who would be coming our way with all these supplies? It seems that, while we did have several new clients each month, the increase made it possible to be more generous to every mom who walks through our doors. Now we can give out 60-90 diapers a month per child rather than just one package. This means three diapers a day instead of one per day. Of course this comes with all other extra items received too. The mothers are walking out with a good supply of items for the month, and we are happy to help them cover the baby bases!

In addition, with a new staff member and the abundance of donations, I am pleased to let you know we average 32 client visits in any given month; we are now open on Tuesdays; we added laundry detergent, deodorant, and hygiene products to our supplies; and we have a well-stocked maternity room with clothing, pumps, undergarments and more to accommodate the needs of our modern mothers. And best of all, with the gracious support of our board, we now serve up to age 3!

Now we are ready to serve even more women. In 2024 we aim to increase clients served by 50%. We have increased our outreach efforts to make sure the local communities are aware of our services. And we have already received referrals attributable to letter writing, attending service provider meetings in our area, and sharing our information locally. We appreciate every dollar that comes in and do our absolute best to make sure it gets used to help as many moms and babies as possible. Keep in mind that many employers offer matching gifts. Some examples are Boeing, UPS and State Farm. Please consider checking into this to double your donation! We cannot do this work without you.
