Climbing Higher for African Pastors Fellowship

In Feb 2027, Pastor Heavenlight Luoga from Tanzania will climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for APF, equipping African pastors with training and resources. Heavenlight says: “APF has done a lot for me, so let me do something for others like me.”

African Pastors Fellowship is a UK charity working alongside church and community leaders in Africa: training, equipping and resourcing the local African church so communities might be transformed.

Story

Climbing Higher for African Pastors Fellowship

Pastor Heavenlight's Kilimanjaro Challenge | February 2027

One pastor. One mountain. One mission to equip thousands.

In February 2027, Pastor Heavenlight Luoga will take on one of Africa's greatest challenges: climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, rising 5,895 metres above sea level.

Heavenlight isn't climbing simply for the adventure. He is climbing to give something back.

As a pastor and Christian leader in rural Tanzania, Heavenlight has experienced first-hand the difference that support, training and resources can make to an African pastor. Now he wants to use his own challenge to help other pastors who are serving their churches and communities, often with very limited resources.

APF has done a lot for me, so let me do something for APF and help others like me.

Across Africa, local pastors are at the heart of their communities. They preach, teach, disciple, provide pastoral care and often lead practical community initiatives. Yet many serve without access to theological training, good-quality resources or the support they need to develop their ministries.

African Pastors Fellowship exists to help change this.

APF works alongside African pastors and local church leaders like Heavenlight, providing access to training, digital resources and practical support for locally-led community development. APF isn't about doing ministry for African churches; it's about equipping African leaders to lead and develop their own ministries in ways that fit their own contexts.

Now Heavenlight is climbing to help make that possible for many more.

Our goal is to raise £15,000 through Heavenlight's Kilimanjaro Challenge.

For example:

£10 can provide a church or community leader with access to a digital library of theological resources.

£50 can help fund essential ministry training for a rural church leader.

£100 can help support a community development initiative led by a local church.

Every donation, large or small, helps Heavenlight climb higher — and helps other African pastors do more for the people they serve.

Back the journey. Bless a ministry.

And as February approaches, please pray for Heavenlight as he prepares for the climb.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

Thank you for helping Heavenlight climb higher as he helps other African pastors like him.
