After receiving a cry for help from a southern Spanish greyhound refuge, Hectors Greyhound Rescue sent a small, self-funded team to see how they can help. What they saw was some of the worst signs of cruelty and neglect they have experienced in over 20 years of rescuing greyhounds.
They visited the local killing station where those dogs handed in by the hunters get killed, those that don't get handed in are often abandoned and left to starve, are thrown down wells and hung from trees. Distemper is rife throughout, some dogs are infested with ticks and very many are mere skeletons.
Hectors Greyhound Rescue are going to do all they can to help save some of these poor Galgos by bringing some of them back to England and finding wonderful forever homes for them.
With your support, we can help as many as possible.
