Story
I’m sure you have seen our yellow helicopter flying overhead on its way to save lives, but what most people don’t realise is that Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance is a registered charity that receives no statutory funding. We are kept flying due to the generosity and support of the people of Lincs and Notts. And here’s how your school can support us and make a difference.
Between May 19th- May 23rd we are inviting all primary schools across Lincs and Notts to get involved by having a dress down day and asking their pupils to wear something yellow, making a £1 donation if they can. And that’s not all. We have an activity pack which includes lots of ideas designed to be both educational and fun which wil be sent to everyone taking part. The pack includes:
• Our helicopter challenge – a helicopter template is provided
• Quiz
• Wordsearch
• Spot the difference
• Word scramble
• T-Shirt design competition
In 2024 our crew attended 1,724 life changing missions. We provide the equivalent of an A&E department directly to the scene of some of the most serious of incidents and devastating injuries across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.
We are not part of the NHS and not funded by the Government. With each mission costing an average of £4,000, the charity needs to raise in excess of £13million each year to keep us by your side when you need us most. We simply can't be there without your support.
