Helmsley CP School needs a new playground!

Story
Play is more than just the chance to run around outside for a quarter of an hour. Play is just as important in the development of a pupil’s social, emotional, intellectual and physical development as classroom learning, says Neil Coleman of Outdoor Play and Learning CIC.

According to a recent study 1 in 5 children leave primary school as 'clinically unfit'. Our generation of children play outdoors much less than ever before. As well as physical fitness, outdoor play is hugely important in cognitive development and emotional well-being.
We are so lucky at Helmsley CP School to have so much outside space, and we need to make the most of it. Unusable cordoned-off play equipment doesn't inspire outdoor fun!
