Story

Alfie is an 18month old Shepherd that originally came into the rescue following a phone call from a concerned member of the public who had spotted him as a giveaway for free on social media. Alfie arrived at the rescue with severe nervous aggression, but over the course of 6 months Alfie has gained in confidence and has become a favourite amongst the staff volunteers, and walkers alike.

3 weeks ago a small lump was spotted in Alfies mouth next to a molar, so Alfie went on a course of antibiotics as it was thought to be a foreign body. This was not the case, so a Alfie went for a biopsy. After an anxious 10 day wait, the results are in, Alfie has a dental tumor. Alfie first requires a CT scan to determine how advanced the Tumor has become, following this the extent of the Tumor can be determined which will in tern identify the operation required.

As a small family run charity rescue, Alfies veterinary costs will put a strain on our finances especially over the winter period. We will do whatever it takes to make poor Alfie well again, what we are asking for is people to support any way they can, with what they can spare to help towards Alfies costs. Every little helps.

Thank you.

About the charity

We are a small family run rescue surrounded by woods & fields, a haven for cats and dogs alike. We started rescuing 26 years ago, taking in unwanted, battered & abused animals & generally helping people when they can no longer look after their animals. Our aim is to rehabilitate & rehome all animals to suitable, caring homes. All homes are checked before & after rehoming. Dogs & cats are vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped and neutered when possible otherwise a voucher towards neutering is given. As a small sanctuary, our animals all get individual love & attention.
