Story
Sadly, due to ongoing funding challenges, we are facing the very real possibility that The Arch-Way Project may have to close in May.
The Arch-Way Project has been supporting the health and well-being of our local community in Halifax since 2012. We were set up to support people living with mental health challenges, including those on the autistic spectrum, adults with profound mental health problems, older people affected by or at risk of dementia, and individuals who experience loneliness or social isolation. Through music, art, beauty therapy and exercise, we provide a safe, creative and non-clinical space where people can build confidence, learn new skills and feel connected to others.
This is not a decision we want to make. For over a decade, our work has supported some of the most marginalised members of our community—people who often feel disaffected or live on the fringes of society. Through social activities and community-based interventions, we help individuals rebuild self-esteem, form friendships and re-connect with the wider community. We also provide entertainment for the local community, supporting local musicians and artists and strengthening community ties.
As a community organisation, led by local trustees and shaped by the voices of our service-users, this potential closure would have a significant impact not only on those who rely on our services, but on the wider community as a whole.
We are continuing to explore all possible options to secure funding and keep our doors open. We would like to thank everyone who has supported The Arch-Way Project since 2012 and ask for your continued support during this uncertain time.
