Greenwich Islamic Centre serves a diverse community and is the only purpose build mosque and Islamic centre for miles around in South East London and into Kent. We are not just a mosque but a centre of our community. A centre for islamically educating our children, youth, sisters and brothers. We have many world famous sheikhs and ulama who visit our centre. We have many facilities attached to the centre for example the Youth Club and funeral service.

With a growing community we needed to expand our centre to cater for the needs as the current mosque was becoming to small for our large community.

The current expansion project consists of the completion of 2 upstairs pray halls, library, offices, a lift for disabled access and conference room.

We have spent thus far £1.6 million (since April 2020) and the required funds to complete the rest of the work circa £800k.

The work for the main hall and basement is now complete alhamdulillah and we need to complete the 2 upstairs prayer halls as well the offices, library and conference room.

After completion of the mosque extension we have future plans to build the following:

An underground car park

A primary school

A separate gym for brothers & sisters

A multi purpose community hall

A shop

A restaurant
