Henry is a young Poodle cross who arrived at the Centre as a stray. He arrived in poor physical condition. He was underweight, had a minor eye infection and also had a badly matted coat. His coat was in such a poor condition that we have had no choice but to ask our groomer to shave his coat off totally. Some of his matts were so tight and close to his skin that this would have been very uncomfortable for him. He is certainly feeling much better already.
On further veterinary examination a problem has been found with both of his knees. He needs specialist surgery to reconstruct his knees so that he has more stability in his legs. It is anticipated that this surgery will provide him the best chance to live a life free from future pain. This surgery, for both legs to be repaired, will cost the Charity around £2,000. We are kindly asking our supporters to help to fundraise for this to help Henry to have the surgery that he needs to live the much loved life that he deserves.
Despite all of this, Henry's temperament remains delightful. He is desperate to please and wants cuddles whenever he can. He can be a little anxious in new situations but with love and kindness, this boy is flourishing to be a total sweetheart.
