Help Hugo breathe again.

Hugo is a 2-year-old French Bulldog who can’t even relax without struggling for air. Every single breath is a fight.

He pants constantly, even when resting, he struggles to eat, and he keeps being sick because his body is working so hard just to breathe. This isn’t how a young, loving dog should be living.

Hugo is suffering from severe BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome), a condition that affects flat-faced breeds like French Bulldogs. It means his airways are so narrowed and obstructed that he physically can’t get enough oxygen in. Over time, it causes constant breathlessness, nausea, collapse and can even be fatal.

He urgently needs specialist surgery to open his airways so he can finally breathe, eat and live normally. Without it, his quality of life will continue to get worse.

It can’t wait any longer, so Hugo is booked in for surgery this Thursday.

Because we’re a small, independent charity, the vets have very kindly reduced the cost to £1,500, but that is still a huge amount for us to find, especially as we’re caring for more and more animals who need urgent medical care.
