Story
Everyday pets, extraordinary struggles, and how you can help
In Sunderland, Hartlepool and South Tyneside, many families are finding it harder than ever to keep food on the table, not just for themselves, but for their beloved pets. We’ve seen proud owners come to us in tears, forced to choose between paying bills or feeding their dog or cat.
That’s why our branch runs a pet food bank and free mobile vet clinics across our community. These services are a lifeline for struggling owners, ensuring pets don’t go hungry and receive essential health checks, vaccinations, and even urgent treatments when they’re in pain.
Every pound donated helps us be there when local pets and their families need us most. Just £5 can feed a pet for a week, £30 can cover vital medication, and £100 helps us host a mobile clinic in one of our most deprived areas.
We are a small, independent branch of the RSPCA. Every penny raised stays right here, supporting pets and their owners in our community. With your help, we can keep tails wagging, cats purring, and families together.
Together, we can give local pets the healthy, happy lives they deserve.
