HelpMadina has been helping the poorest in Sierra Leone for many years. Our projects are varied and include a Feeding Centre for malnourished children; Outreach Health Clinics; Eye Clinics and Cataract Surgery; Hernia Repairs; Care of the Elderly; Water Wells and Toilets; and a Learning Centre for children.
In an area where the average living wage is less than £1 a day the hardship and suffering that people go through can be momentarily be forgotten through the love of Football which helps to bring people together from all faiths, tribes and differing backgrounds.
HelpMadina was asked to run a local football tournament and so that is what we are doing in March 2024. 11 of us (all very middle aged) will be running a competition involving 32 villages with the final being in Madina itself. There will also be some football coaching and a referees work shop.
We think this will be very popular and help highlight the work of HelpMadina.
Your financial support will help fund our existing projects mentioned above. The tournament itself is funded by the travelling football volunteers.
