Missy is a 12 year old Pekingese dog who arrived in our care due to welfare concerns.
Missy was brought over from her home in Romania and not long after found herself in rescue. Such a lot of change for a little dog.
We quickly noticed that Missy had something worrying wrong with her eye, which was sore and protruding.
After further investigations we found out that Missy had been subject to a road traffic collision some years ago where her eye was removed from the socket in the accident. At the time, her vet in Romania made the decision to put her eye back in.
Sadly, this now causes Missy pain and discomfort, and she can no longer see out of her eye, blink, or close her eye which means she can't rid debris that enters.
We can see that Missy is in pain and we want to remove her eye as a matter of urgency so this lovely girl can finally have a pain-free day and be on the road to finding her new home.
The surgery is likely to cost our branch £1000, and as a small rehoming centre who is self funded and relies on fundraising from our generous supporters, we're calling on you for help.
Our rehoming centre in Martlesham takes on medically and behaviourally unsound dogs who will often be turned away elsewhere, which often leaves us with extremely high vet bills each month.
We are not willing to give up on Missy and will do everything we can to allow her a retirement life full of joy and happiness, but we need your help to do this.
Every penny raised will go directly to the care of Missy and her sister Matsa, who too needs treatment since arriving to the UK.
We hope you can support us, and please keep an eye on our page for updates on Missy's progress!
