Story
Our field hospital at Dao Tien, Vietnam is absolutely vital to continue our rescue and release operation. Here, victims of the black market trade are health checked after their rescue, and sometimes given life saving treatment. We have primates arrive at the centre with shot in their bodies, or with broken limbs, and every single one must be thoroughly examined by our on site vet team to ensure good rehabilitation, and assess whether they would be good candidates for release.
Our hospital is also vital during the release procedure, as the primates are anaesthetised to have GPS collars fitted, so we can ensure their success and well-being after release.
However, the hospital is extremely hot! When an animal is anaesthetised, particularly in the middle of the dry season in Vietnam, they are at a danger of over-heating, and our team have had to douse with water to keep their core temperatures at a safe level.
We really could use an air conditioning unit for the hospital- and we'd love your help to buy one!
