Help save Staffordshire Sight Loss Association

We provide vital in-person services, support, and social opportunities for people living with sight loss in North Staffordshire. But right now, that support is at risk

We are a local charity that provides support for blind and partially sighted people in North Staffordshire. Our services aim to help people deal with the practical and emotional impact of sight loss. We are committed to ensuring that people have the right support when & where they need it.

Story

Staffordshire Sight Loss Association is facing service cuts - and we need your help.

We set this page up at the start of April with the news that, without urgent help, our charity may need to close its doors. The response from the community since that time has been amazing, and we want to thank everyone who has donated, shared, sent funding ideas, and messages of support. You are all amazing, and without your help, closure would have been inevitable.

Our appeal has so far raised enough money to keep our Resource Centre, some of our social groups, and Community advice drop-ins open. This is wonderful; however, we still need your support to save our other vital services that are a lifeline to people living with sight loss in North Staffordshire.

Over 17,000 people are living with sight loss in North Staffordshire and for so many, SSLA is a lifeline.

We provide support, friendship, independence, advice, practical help, and hope to people who are blind and partially sighted, and to their families too. For many, it is the difference between feeling isolated and feeling connected, between struggling alone and having somewhere to turn.

If services are lost, blind and partially sighted people across our community could lose access to the specialist support they rely on.

Our target is to raise £100,000 and every donation, no matter how big or small will help protect essential services for people living with sight loss in North Staffordshire.

Your support can help us to provide:

-Practical advice and emotional support

-Social groups and community connections

-Help with independent living

-Access to specialist information and guidance

-A trusted place for people and families to turn in difficult times

If Staffordshire Sight Loss Association has ever helped you, someone you love, or if you simply believe that no one should face sight loss alone, please support us by donating and sharing our page

Together, we can help to keep our vital services going. Thank you so much to everyone who has already supported our appeal
