Every Step We Take Creates a Better Future

On 18th July 2026, Team Help Smile Trust will proudly participate in the Battersea Park 10K Run to raise funds and awareness for projects that are transforming lives through education, healthcare, rehabilitation, and reconstructive surgery.

Since its inception, Help Smile Trust has been guided by a simple vision: to support vulnerable individuals and communities through Health, Education, Love and Peace. Through the dedication of our volunteers, supporters, healthcare professionals, donors, and trustees, we have been able to make a meaningful impact both in the UK and internationally.

This year's fundraising campaign aims not only to celebrate the work already achieved but also to raise vital funds for the next stage of our journey.

Education: Building Futures Through Opportunity

Transforming Schools in Rural Gujarat

Education remains one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty.

Last year, Help Smile Trust has supported educational initiatives in rural areas of Gujarat, including projects in Paliyad and Bhavnagar. Many children in these regions come from families with limited financial resources and often face challenges in accessing quality education.

The Trust has contributed towards improving educational facilities, supporting infrastructure development, and helping schools create a better learning environment for students (by donating £10,000 to create new rooms for students). What was once a basic educational setting has gradually evolved into a more structured and supportive environment where children can learn, develop confidence, and pursue their ambitions.

Teachers and local communities have reported increased school attendance, improved educational engagement, and growing aspirations amongst students.

Our Next Goal

The school now requires further expansion to accommodate increasing numbers of pupils.

To continue this journey, we aim to raise:

✅ An additional £10,000 for room extensions and educational facilities

These improvements will allow more children to benefit from education and create a safer, more effective learning environment for future generations.

Supporting Students Through Educational Loans and Scholarships

Many talented students are unable to continue their education due to financial constraints.

Help Smile Trust has supported students through educational assistance and loans, enabling them to pursue higher education and vocational training opportunities.

Several students who received support have gone on to complete their studies and secure employment, creating a positive ripple effect not only for themselves but also for their families and communities.

For many families, even a relatively small amount of financial assistance can make the difference between a child continuing education or being forced to abandon their studies.

Our ambition is to continue supporting deserving students who demonstrate determination, talent, and commitment to improving their future.

Supporting Navkshitij Rehabilitation Institute, Pune

One of the most rewarding partnerships developed by Help Smile Trust has been with Navkshitij Rehabilitation Institute in Pune.

Navkshitij provides residential care, rehabilitation, education, and support for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The residents of Navkshitij are extraordinary individuals who benefit from structured programmes designed to maximise independence, confidence, and quality of life.

Over the years, Help Smile Trust trustees and supporters have regularly visited the institute, sponsored meals, provided donations, and supported activities that directly benefit the residents.

These visits are often deeply moving and remind us of the importance of creating an inclusive society where every individual is valued and supported.

Funds raised through the Battersea Park 10K will help continue this valuable partnership and ensure ongoing support for the residents and staff at Navkshitij.

Reconstructive Surgery: Restoring Lives, Confidence and Dignity

One of the cornerstones of Help Smile Trust's work is supporting reconstructive surgical initiatives in developing countries.

Many patients living in resource-poor environments suffer from conditions that would be routinely treated in developed healthcare systems.

These conditions may include:

• Congenital deformities

• Cleft lip and palate

• Burn contractures

• Traumatic injuries

• Post-infective deformities

• Soft tissue and facial abnormalities

Without treatment, many patients face significant social, functional, educational, and psychological challenges.

Working alongside local healthcare teams and international volunteers, reconstructive surgery missions have provided life-changing treatment to patients in locations including Ghana and Mount Abu, Rajasthan.

The impact of these procedures extends far beyond the operating theatre.

A child who receives corrective surgery may gain the confidence to attend school.

An adult with a disabling contracture may return to work and support their family.

A patient living with facial disfigurement may regain confidence and social acceptance.

Each operation has the potential to transform an entire life.
