BRING INDIGENOUS GRANDMOTHER EDA ZAVALA TO SCOTLAND FOR COLLECTIVE HEALING
Join us in this rare opportunity to walk with an indigenous elder in our collective awakening and remembering.
We are facing a pivotal moment in our social and cultural history in the UK: a time where many of us women - particularly those in service to others - see clearly that our current ways of working are leading to chronic exhaustion and disease, and ultimately a loss of identity and sense of self.
The colonial, patriarchal and capitalist systems that we have been conditioned into have too often diminished us, making us forget who we are and what we came here for. In response, many women are challenging this paradigm by reconnecting with their ancestral traditions, their lineage and with the land. They are remembering the matriarchal ways of healing themselves as well as healing others.
If you hear that call, we would love for you to support our efforts to bring Indigenous Elder Eda from Peru to assist all of us, in our rematriation: the restoration of balance and wholeness, and deepening relationship with the land and our own indigenous wisdom.
With your support, we will bring Eda to Scotland to offer:
💚 Healing ceremonies
💚 Teachings on plant medicine and ancestral connection
💚 Community workshops
💚 Women’s circles
💚 Public talks
💚 Deep retreat experiences in nature
💚 Guidance for healers, teachers, activists, leaders, daughters, mothers, grandmothers, sisters.
This work supports people across fields such as:
• education
• the NHS
• childbirth and midwifery
• community activism
• women’s rights
• climate action
• social care
• spiritual and holistic leadership
When we heal ourselves, we heal our families, our systems, and the communities we serve. This is how change roots itself into the world.
MORE ABOUT EDA
In 2025, something extraordinary happened. A grandmother from the Amazon rainforest - a healer, a wisdom keeper, a rare female shaman, was guided by the plants themselves to travel across continents and step onto Scottish soil.
When she was here, she supported around 80 women and was invited to speak on a podcast hosted here in the UK. Eda is deeply connected to her lineage and her mission now is to help us remember our own connection.
In Eda’s own words:
“Since I started my pilgrimage to the British Isles I have learned a more refined Mother Earth Wisdom, specifically related to Scotland and ancient Celtic Culture. I can sense the weaving of ancient ways of feminine wisdom which comes from indigenous roots here. This is a crucial moment where my own indigenous experience can help women reconnect with their own roots and bring their wisdom back. The Universe has brought me out here to play a certain role, helping me draw visions that unveil more intricate knowledge the women here hold but have forgotten.”
Her presence here is medicine, not just for individuals, but for the land, for the collective, and for the generations of women reclaiming their intuition, their voice, and their connection to purpose. She carries an unbroken thread, a living connection to her ancestors, her land, her plants, her ceremonies, her cosmology. A thread that many here in the British Isles have spent lifetimes searching for.
Grandmother Eda is meant to be here again. And autumn 2026, we want to welcome her back. Not just for one or two retreats, but for a full Month of workshops, gatherings, ceremonies, and community healing.
WHY WE ARE FUNDRAISING
Travel from the Amazon to Scotland is expensive. Eda lives simply, and we want to honour her time, her lineage, and her community with fairness and integrity. We are asking for a donation of £15, £20, £25 or more if it touches your heart and you feel called to donate more towards her travels.
In return:
💚 You’ll be directly helping to heal intergenerational trauma and the impact of colonialism, by supporting elders who are keeping their traditions and indigenous ways alive and helping us to remember ours.
💚 You’ll be contributing to a growing network of wisdom keepers, medicine men and women, teachers, creatives, and purpose led leaders who are building a new world based on balance, reciprocity, community and sustainability.
Your contribution isn’t just financial. It’s energetic. It’s ancestral. It’s part of a movement of women and men reclaiming what was once taken, remembering what was once common practice.
MORE BACKGROUND TO THIS PROJECT
For generations, women in the British Isles have sought spiritual wisdom through lineages outside our own - Indigenous, Eastern, South and North American, African. We did this because something in us knew we were missing a piece of ourselves, we were searching in order to ease the disconnect we felt with the way we were living our lives. But as we now understand, this forgetting was not an accident.
Across Europe, and especially here in Scotland — where some of the harshest “witch” trials took place - women were systematically targeted and tortured.
The “witch wound” was an attack on all things female. This trauma travelled down through our bodies, generations of our families, our culture and we started to shame and shut down the aspects of ourselves that we so desperately need to bring balance back to our planet now. These aspects include: our intuition, our medicine and healing gifts, our connection to the land, our voice and our refusal to conform. But something is changing.
Women in Scotland, and across the Isles (and the Globe) are waking up to this part of history. For women helpers, carers and activists, this means:
💚 Remembering earth based wisdom and cyclical living that honours our naturally changing energy levels and our right to rest
💚 Returning to the plants that grow beneath our feet, to offer us groundedness and nutritional support so we show up with greater clarity and strength
💚 Healing the feminine wound of the generations before us, so we replace division, rivalry and harm to ourselves and others with mutual support, empowerment and collective care.
💚 Building relationship with the land so our leadership, creativity and service is rooted in protection of the earth as well as its people
This is sacred activism to support new ways of expansion, sustaining ourselves and taking action in these times of global unravelling and systems collapse.
And Eda’s arrival has activated and propelled this remembering and transformation. It felt like a sign that we are ready and the time is now!
As part of the "Return to Your Roots Gathering" held in 2025, Eda said:
“The trees here are elders. The stones are elders. They recognise you.” Scotland is magical, like my Amazonian jungle. It is very magical, quiet and ancient. I felt totally joyful there… The wisdom doesn’t have borders. That land spoke to me like home.” And Eda saw this clearly.
“Your roots are already here,” she said. “Just dig a little. They will show you who you are.”
Female shamans of Eda's lineage are incredibly rare. Her path has been shaped by ceremony, humility, plants, elders, and decades of deep service.
When she speaks, you don’t simply hear words, you feel the teachings land in your body.
Deep gratitude from the 7 sisters:
Eda, Claudia, Katherine, Lorna, Clare, Carla, Gemma.
