YOUR SUPPORT IS VITAL TO KEEP THE HEART OF OUR COMMUNITY BEATING STRONGLY
Recently, we have experienced serious issues with essential features of our village hall - the roof and the flooring. Additionally, the lighting, bar area, kitchen and toilet facilities now need to be updated. The hall is generally no longer as comfortable, or as user-friendly as it should be. Without attention, we risk further damage to the hall, the building could become unsustainable and lost to the village for ever. We need to act NOW!
It is more than just a building—it’s where friendships are forged, memories made, and community spirit thrives. It provides a welcoming space for all manner of gatherings including a wide range of sports and leisure activities. Many in the village will remember youth activities, discos, stage shows - including the Wymondham Players’ pantomime - parties to mark various life events and to celebrate national milestones, wakes, bingo, films, club meetings, charity events and more.
Wymondham Village Hall is owned by the village and is nearly 100 years old. It has served as a cornerstone of our community for generations. In 2028, we want to be able to celebrate the hall’s centenary and ensure the hall can be enjoyed by future generations.

The challenge we face
We are committed to restoring the village hall, making it a more modern, accessible, and welcoming venue for everyone.
Our long-term plans include work to:
• replace the current floor with a sustainable, insulated solid base with wooden floorboards.
• upgrade light fittings.
• install Wi-Fi capability.
• modernise the bar, kitchen and toilet facilities.
Only with your support will we be successful.
How you can help
Breathing life into the village hall, will require a substantial amount of money. Whilst we are seeking grants and exploring other funding avenues, the support of the community is CRUCIAL. Our initial crowdfunding target for this year is set at £15,000.
We ask YOU please to donate today – any donation you are able to make, will bring us closer to our goal.
You could also be a Fundraiser (see top right) and hold your own sponsored event to raise money for the hall. What could YOU do to help our hall?
Together, we can make it happen
ONLY with your support can we ensure the village hall remains the vibrant heart of village life for many years to come.
Thank you in advance.
THE VILLAGE HALL COMMITTEE
I attend coffee mornings in the village hall most Tuesdays. It is a good place to meet new people and to encourage those new to the village to settle in. Today, there are about 20 of us – some who have lived in the village for years and newcomers who have not yet lived here for a year. It provides a valuable opportunity for integration and community engagement. Later today, there are groups for Pilates, table tennis and badminton. Joan Palframan
Life would be very much the poorer without the village hall. Friendships are forged and maintained over coffee and fabulous cake on a Tuesday morning. We enjoy occasional films and contemporary theatre from National Theatre Live. Most years there is a wonderful pantomime, enjoyed by villagers and many other visitors. I think the village would lose its heart if it were lost. Pat Archer
The Wymondham Table Tennis Club meets in the village hall every Tuesday evening. The equipment is provided free of charge; participants just need to pay a £5 fee towards the hire of the hall. It is a very friendly, relaxed club and fun to participate in. Plus, it is great for exercise and a great way to meet people, especially if you are new to the village. Thoroughly recommended.
