Hen Heaven Appeal

Organised by Dean Farm Trust

Our hens have recently had a visit from a fox, we think this is due to the number of hens we have rescued which has attracted the fox mum and her cubs. Hen Heaven needs more secure fencing to keep our hens safe in the day and evening.

Story

Our 94 hens and Colin Pierre need to be kept safe from predators so with the recent fox attacks in the daytime (which have not happened previously) we have to re fence Hen Heaven. The fencing required is toughened wire, it is over 6 feet high with a return on the top. It also has wire pegged into the ground to stop any predators digging underneath. This fencing will mean our birds will be safe 24 hours a day without the risk of an attack. It is vitally important all our residents have enough space to display their natural behaviours. Most of our girls have lived in cages their entire lives before they were rescued, so at the sanctuary we must give them as much freedom as possible in a natural and safe environment. The cost is £2,000 and with the recent donation from Ecclesiastical Insurance we just need another £1,000. Please help if you can.
