But why support Gig Buddies?

Did you know, standard support for people with a learning disability often finishes at 9pm. Can you remember the last gig you went to that finished before 9pm?

Gig Buddies is all in the name! We find volunteers, put them through a match making process, and pair them with someone with a learning disability with similar interests. This way, the pair can pursue their interests together as friends, with no time limit on a good night out. Each pair is provided with support, repairing as many time as they like if they dont immediately click, and of course we cant resist organising some group nights out!

We also offer training sessions to venues, ran by people with a learning disability, to educate them on how to be more learning disability accessible. This training, along with our Gig Buddies Members, is the beginning of a level of independence for people with a learning disability.

Why do we need your support? Gig Buddies is entirely voluntary funded, which means we rely on support from gig-goers like you to continue to grow and support more Gig Buddies pairs. Your donation will support someone with a learning disability to make a life long friend and some incredible memories.
