The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileThe Herndon Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic was established in 1986 after two pioneering women, Dr. Geneva Herndon and Mrs. Velma Wooster, established the program in the 1950s. As the profession has expanded, so has the need for those services.
The Herndon Clinics primary purpose is to serve the community and northwest Kansas by providing graduate students majoring in speech-language pathology hands-on experience in providing clinical services in speech, language, and hearing. Nationally certified and state licensed faculty supervise clinical students implementing the latest evidence-based research practices to provide clients with high-quality, comprehensive, individualized evaluations and treatment programs.
The Herndon Clinic serves clients across the lifespan with a variety of disorders including developmental disorders (e.g., speech sound disorders, late talkers, dyslexia, etc.), neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g. autism spectrum disorder), genetic disorders (e.g. Down syndrome), and acquired disorders (e.g., stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinsons disease, etc.).
Each client averages 20 sessions per semester at a cost of $100 per session. How can you help? Our goal of $10,000 would impact the lives of 5 clients for the fall and spring semesters. Imagine life without communication; wouldnt you want someone to believe in the power of your words?
