Story

Between 16th and 23rd March, something special is happening at Herongate Club in Hungerford.

Over the course of one determined week, with our finale on 21st March, our community will come together to cycle an incredible distance — approximately 1,886 kilometres/ MDCCCLXXXVI in Roman Numerals, the same journey it would take to ride from Herongate Club all the way to the Colosseum in Rome. It’s a bold challenge, but one driven by an even bigger purpose.

This charity bike ride is in support of New Life Babies Charity, an organisation dedicated to giving vulnerable babies the best possible start in life. Every donation helps provide vital equipment, care, and support for babies and families when they need it most — at the very beginning of their journey.

Each kilometre represents more than distance. It represents hope. It represents strength. It represents the belief that, together, we can go further than we ever could alone.

Riders of all abilities will take part, sharing the miles across the week, pushing through tired legs, early mornings, and long sessions — all fuelled by the knowledge that their effort is helping change lives. And for those who aren’t cycling, your support, encouragement, and donations are just as powerful.

From Hungerford to Rome, from Herongate Club to the Colosseum, this ride is about connection — between people, communities, and causes that truly matter.
