Story
We're asking you to show Hft the love this Valentine's and take on the 1.4 Challenge and do something amazing that involves the numbers 1 and 4!
The 1.4 Challenge can be anything that works for you. You can run or walk 1.4 miles, skip for 1.4 minutes, dance for 14 minutes, make 14 Valentine's Day cards or if you love cooking invite 14 people to attend a virtual Come Dine with Me - do anything you like!
This is a challenge for all ages and abilities, we just want you to get active, have fun and support Hft. There are no limits on what you can do so get creative!
Throughout the last 20 months, many of us have faced difficulties we have never experienced before. The physical threat of Covid-19 is still very real with new variants, and so is the impact on their mental health and wellbeing.
This is unsettling for everyone, but in particular for people with learning disabilities - many of whom already faced enduring barriers to community, friendship and connection long before Covid-19; three barriers which have been exacerbated by the particular constraints of the pandemic. Over a third of people with a learning disability told us that they felt lonely nearly always or all the time. A similar amount told us that they hardly ever or never go out to socialise.
We do all we can to help the people we support navigate these strange times. You can play your part to help us provide additional support, by joining us for an awesome challenge.
All profit from Hft's 1.4 Challenge will go towards ensuring the ongoing safety and wellbeing of people with learning disabilities and autism we support.
Thank you for choosing to support and raise money for Hft.
Good luck and we can't wait to see what your 1.4 is!
