Story
The High Sheriff's Fund was established to support local community and voluntary activities, now and in the future.
Once a year grants are awarded, and a celebratory Awards Event is held in Suffolk to showcase the amazing work done by Suffolk's charitable sector.
Projects must demonstrate they are tackling at least one of the following:
- Bullying
- Vandalism
- Arson
- Anti-social behaviour
- Homelessness
- Internet safety
- Personal safety
- Road safety
- Knife crime
- Drug and alcohol abuse and awareness
- Community cohesion
The High Sheriff of Suffolk depends on charitable donations to increase the amount of money available to award in grants. The income from the permanent fund supports local community and voluntary activities now and in the future. Each year, the High Sheriff takes on the personal responsibility for growing the Fund.
