It is a project like no other. It saves underprivileged children living with congenital heart defects who have no other means to overcome this crippling disease.
Hijrah Ride is proud to support Little Hearts. Last year, we supported over 70 life-saving heart operations in Kenya and Egypt. Hijrah Ride 1444 will continue on this legacy this year. We are aiming to support at least 70 similar operations in 2022.
With your support, we were able to save Ahmed. This is his story.
Each year an estimated 1,500,000 babies are born worldwide with a congenital heart defect, and nearly 10 per cent do not survive their first year of life.
In poor underdeveloped countries, the lack of specialised medical infrastructure means babies born with congenital heart defects have little or no access to necessary treatment.
I believe ignoring this deadly killer is tantamount to a death sentence for the many children born with this disease.
Most of these conditions can be fixed, but children suffer due to a lack of resources, infrastructure, and specialist medical staff.
I am committed to children with CHD, and I will continue my mission of providing them with an opportunity for a healthy life.
Muntada Aid's Little Hearts missions are free from the point of contact and are powered by our donations.
The programme was first launched in 2012, and in the last nine years, the mission has travelled to nine different countries carrying out over 23,00 operations and interventions.
