Path to Possibilities was inspired by a simple experience from our founder’s childhood.

During a challenging time in her family’s life, her mother raised her children alone and did everything possible to keep them in school. What made the difference during that period was the support of others. People stepped in to help ensure the children could continue their education and move forward.

That experience shaped her and became the foundation of Path to Possibilities: a commitment to ensure that children are not forced to abandon their education because of financial barriers.

Today, that mission reaches children through scholarships, a Resource Centre in Lagos, and programs that help young people develop essential skills for their future.

Why This Work Matters

In Nigeria, millions of children start primary school, but far fewer complete their education. Of the 30 million who enrol in primary school, only about 10 million reach junior secondary school, and around 6 million continue to senior secondary school.

The difference between dropping out and continuing comes down to one thing: timely support.

Path to Possibilities exists to close that gap.

Why We Hike

For the past three years, our UK community has come together to Hike for Change. On Saturday, 31 October 2026, our supporters will hike along the Ouse Valley Viaduct to raise £30,000 to help us continue our work in Nigeria.

The funds raised will support the programs we run throughout the year, helping us to:

• Keep children in school through our six-year secondary school scholarship programme

• Keep our Resource Centre open and accessible to the community

• Provide books, computers and free internet access

• Deliver workshops and vocational training

• Cover the operational costs that make these programmes possible

Ten Years of the Resource Centre

This year marks the 10th anniversary of our Resource Centre in Lagos.

For a decade, it has been a place where children can study, read, learn computer skills, and explore opportunities that may not be available to them elsewhere.

As we celebrate this milestone, our goal is not only to sustain the centre, but to improve it for the future.

With your support for this fundraiser, we can install a sustainable solar energy system. This will reduce fuel usage and ensure learning continues despite power instability.
