Story
Every life saved begins with a system that works.
When HIPZ began working in Zanzibar, 473 mothers died for every 100,000 live births. Today, that figure is 119.
That transformation didn't happen overnight. It happened because of nearly 20 years of sustained investment in people, relationships and healthcare systems — work that now reaches two million people across more than 80% of Zanzibar's facilities.
"HIPZ is making a meaningful impact in a small yet transformative country."
Every year, 50,000 mothers are supported through childbirth. More than 13,000 people are newly diagnosed and treated for hypertension and heart disease. Mental health support is reaching people in their own communities for the first time.
Core funding pays for the coordination, leadership and infrastructure that keeps every programme running. It allows HIPZ to respond quickly to emerging health challenges — from antimicrobial resistance to growing demand for mental health services.
HIPZ consistently delivers high-quality projects.
We're raising £10,000 to keep that work going.
Will you help us build on what's already been achieved — and reach the people who still need us most?
