Histon Manor - Cambridge Acorn Project - Charity of the Year 2026

Histon Manor is proud to support Cambridge Acorn Project, helping children and families in Cambridgeshire recover from trauma and abuse. All our fundraising this year will raise awareness and vital funds for this amazing local charity.

We support children and their families who have experienced trauma and emotional distress, including traumatic poverty. We provide therapeutic and holistic, structural, support, working with children and families and building on their natural strengths based on social justice principles.

Story

Histon Manor is supporting Cambridge Acorn Project, our chosen charity for 2026.

Each year, we choose a key charity to support, and all our fundraisers for the year will focus on raising the profile of this amazing charity and providing them with essential funds.

Our February Snowdrop event will be the first in our calendar. We will also be working with our clients to involve them where possible.

We are delighted to announce that 10% of our corporate bookings will go directly to this charity, and in some cases, our clients will be matching this.

We are very excited to be working with Cambridge Acorn Project in 2026. Their work to provide accessible therapeutic support is truly inspirational”. - Katherine Mann, Histon Manor

Funds raised this year will provide life-changing, long-term therapeutic support for children, young people, and families facing trauma, abuse, and financial hardship. Using a panoramic, wraparound model of trauma-informed care, Cambridge Acorn Project meets the complex needs of each child and family. This includes therapy in schools and the community, weekly parent drop-ins, enrichment activities, and casework support - helping to break cycles of trauma and disadvantage and giving children the tools to heal, grow, and thrive.

We are so honoured to be Histon Manor’s chosen charity for 2026. Children’s mental health is in crisis, and the support we receive from Histon Manor will help us keep the lights on and continue providing vital therapeutic services. This flexible funding allows us to focus on our core costs so we can help more children thrive. We are incredibly grateful to Katherine for her passion and commitment to using Histon Manor to engage the community and support our work. - Kate Weir, Cambridge Acorn Project
