🎄 Want to spread the festive spirit? Have a look at our 2024 Holiday Hampers campaign!
💚 Positive Help has been supporting people living with HIV and Hepatitis C in Edinburgh and the Lothians for over 35 years. We offer practical and relationship based support to help people Live Well and reduce the impact of social isolation.
🤝 In recent years we have seen an increasing need for financial support from the families and adults we work with. Christmas can be an exceptionally challenging time for everyone, and can add to the growing financial and emotional pressures faced by those we support. To help with this, Positive Help is launching our 2024 Holiday Hamper Campaign. Our campaign this year will focus on easing financial pressures of gift giving for families and bringing some festive spirit to our older Services Users who experience isolation at this time of year.
🎁 Our 2024 hampers will provide households with gifts and practical Christmas items. For our parents, this will ease the financial stresses and help them to overcome some of the challenges that living in poverty can bring, especially around the holidays. For our adult service users, who face social isolation, a hamper will not only provide a gift for them but also some extra social contact with our volunteers and staff during the festive period.
Q&A
💷 How much does it cost? To support a one-adult household, we are asking that a hamper is created to the value of £40. This would increase to £80 for a two-adult household. For a family hamper, the value would depend on the size of the family, but the maximum value would be £230. A donation of any size will contribute to supplying a hamper.
👪 Who is this going to? The vulnerable families and isolated adults we work with in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
😄 Why should I get involved? It allows people to get together towards a clear goal and promote the festive spirit. It is a great way to support the work at Positive Help when you may not have the possibility to volunteer regularly.
