St David’s Hospice Care is a charitable organisation providing comprehensive, palliative care to patients, their families and carers facing life-limiting illnesses across South East Wales.

All funds raised from Holiday Inn, Newport will be supporting the In-Patient Unit.

Built in 2017, St David’s Hospice Care In-Patient Unit provides specialist palliative and end-of-life care to hundreds of local people each year. Patients benefit from round-the-clock care, tailored to their individual needs and wishes.

Holiday Inn are raising funds In Loving Memory of Sharon:

"In 2023, Sharon was diagnosed with Mucinous Ovarian Cancer Coalition - a particularly aggressive and rare cancer. Sharon had surgery hoping that there would be a positive outcome once she had a hysterectomy, unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, and her battle begun. Sharon had 6 beautiful children, she put up the fight of her life to stay with her beloved family, always believing she would beat the cancer, she remained positive, full of fun and laughter, and most of all full of love for her family.

St David's Hospice Care is a crucial, small but incredible charity that supports people like Sharon on their distressing journey. Not only does it offer invaluable free help and advice but also funds essential palliative care for those facing a progressive life limiting illness. Your donation will make a BIG difference to these guys!'

Sadly, on 17th May 2025, at the age of 59 years surrounded by her family, Sharon lost her battle to cancer. Sharon’s friends and family have continued with Sharon’s never give up attitude wanting to help St David's by raising funds, to show their gratitude for making Sharon’s final days as comfortable, and as peaceful as possible.

Sharon’s sister Michelle will be arranging fundraising activities to support the hospice, Michelle said, as a family we will always have so much gratitude to the Hospice and the team who cared for Sharon and extended their support to us as a family."
