Story
Everyone in Britain knows the importance of a watertight roof!
For years now, we've been needing to fix the priory roof at Holy Cross, and it has taken us a long time to gather the necessary funds. Now we are nearly there! We just need a final push to raise the last £10,000 (total project cost is around £80,000).
CAN YOU HELP US? Just 100 gifts of £100, or 200 gifts of £50, is all we need to find.
More Information
Our priory roof (New Walk section) has deteriorated beyond a state where repairs can be made. The slate itself is flaking off and the roof has gone beyond its lifespan. There are leaks coming in through lead flashing and tiles have dislodged, causing water to come in.
This section of roof is the residence of the priests who serve Holy Cross church, and it is only a matter of time before the building starts to become badly affected by water coming in through our priory attic. We have money in our roof fund to pay for most of the work, but we need around £10,000 to pay for the remaining costs of the works.
