335km TOGETHER - Maternal Mental Health Week
To our wonderful community of Caithness, we’re inviting you to be part of something powerful.
Many expectant mothers in Caithness have to travel to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness to give birth—away from home, support networks, and familiar care. That distance isn’t just physical. It can mean anxiety, isolation, and emotional strain at a critical time.
So this Maternal Mental Health Week, we’re turning those kilometres into a shared community journey.
The Challenge:
Together across the week, we’re aiming to reach 335km (or more!) - the distance from Caithness General Hospital to Raigmore Hospital and back - and we need your steps to get there.
How to take part -
* Walk, run, or move in your own way, hopping would be a giggle!
* Go solo, with family, walk the dog, or out in a group
* Send us your kilometres and we’ll add them to the total
* Dedicate your kilometres to a mum, a family, or your own experience, in a donation to help Home-Start Caithness continue supporting families in our community.
No mother should feel alone, unsupported, or overwhelmed. This challenge shines a light on the mental health impact of distance, access, and inequality in maternity care.
We’ll be sharing daily updates as we get closer to 335km so keep an eye on our facebook page and cheer our community on!
Thank you so much for your support ❤️
