Hope Against Cancer is Leicestershire and Rutland's local cancer research charity, and 2024 is our 21st anniversary year! With the introduction of Tim and his fitness background, this event is not to be missed!
We strive for a future where more people survive cancer. We do this by funding innovative research that leads to improved treatments and better outcomes, initially for local trialists and then for people diagnosed with cancer worldwide.
In its 21 years, Hope has funded over 100 research projects in Leicester’s universities and hospitals and established the internationally-recognised Hope Cancer Trials Centre here in Leicester, in partnership with the Leicester Hospitals and Universities. Together we have helped establish Leicestershire as a hub of expertise in cancer research and treatment.
Since the Hope Cancer Trials Centre opened in 2012, thousands of people from our area and beyond have received world-class care and ground-breaking treatments not currently available on the NHS. The centre has been so successful that, between 2019 and 2020, we raised a further £1.5m to double its size and capacity.
