When Oreo arrived at Hopefield Animal Sanctuary, our hearts broke.

This beautiful little Spaniel had been found on the brink of death, severely underweight, weak, and barely clinging to life. She had been completely failed by humans, left to starve without food, care, or compassion.

Sadly, Oreo’s story is not unique.

Every week, we are seeing more and more animals arriving in appalling condition – victims of neglect, abandonment, and cruelty. The animal welfare crisis in the UK is spiralling, and small charities like ours are being pushed to the limit.

Oreo may have been one of the lucky ones to make it to safety, but her journey to recovery is just beginning.

She now needs:

- Nutritional support and a carefully monitored diet

- Regular health checks and medication

- Emotional rehabilitation and time to rebuild trust

All of this comes at a significant cost – and as a charity with no government funding, we rely solely on the kindness of people like you to give animals like Oreo a second chance.
