Hopefield Animal Sanctuary has been a safe haven for nearly 700 rescued animals for 42 years—providing love, care, and sanctuary to those who have nowhere else to go.
Right now, we’re facing one of our toughest challenges.
We’ve had to temporarily close to the public to carry out urgent repairs and essential maintenance across the site. These works are absolutely critical to keeping our animals safe and our sanctuary functioning—but they come at a huge cost.
Not only are we having to pay significant sums for the work itself, but we’re also losing around £10,000 in income every single week while we're closed. With the repairs expected to take another three weeks, this is a financial blow that we simply can’t weather alone.
Some of the key works we urgently need to complete before we can safely reopen include:
1) Building and fitting out a brand-new Education Centre, a vital space for community outreach and learning
2) Rebuilding our bird pens following a recent fox attack, to ensure our feathered residents are protected
3) Repairing plumbing on our handwashing stations – a huge thank you to Lowe Property Care for generously stepping in to sort these for us
4) Addressing electrical issues in multiple areas across the sanctuary
5) Carrying out essential painting, gardening, and general maintenance to keep the site safe, clean, and welcoming.
We urgently need your help.
Your donation—no matter how big or small—will go directly towards keeping the sanctuary afloat during this difficult period. It will help cover essential costs like animal feed, vet care, and the vital repairs that will allow us to reopen our gates once again.
From the bottom of our hearts—and on behalf of all our animals—thank you for standing by us when we need you most 💚
