Story
On Saturday 9th May, the children of Horniman Primary are embarking on a big adventure for a fantastic cause, and they need your support!
The Three Peaks Challenge sees kids (and their grown-ups) take on a 3km route to summit the three steepest hills of SE23. Our school has a long history of intrepid explorers tackling the peaks, and in 2026, for the first time, Year 6 pioneers who have already mastered the mountains will set up special base camps along the route. There’ll be a kids' raffle, prizes, and challenges for all ages!
Entry costs £3 per child, and we’d love for children and their families to raise funds through sponsorship as they explore our beautiful hilltop corner of London.
All money raised will be used to enrich outdoor learning at the school. Aspirations include reinstating our community herb garden, completing our sensory garden with seating and signage, extending the mud kitchen, developing and maintaining green spaces across the school, and investing in Forest School training and resources for activities like bushcraft, tool use, slacklining and more – to equip our pioneers of the future!
Children can set up their own fundraising page by clicking on the orange “start fundraising” button or use printed sponsorship forms that will be given out in the summer term.
Please encourage friends, family members, neighbours and colleagues to sponsor your young explorers, and please give what you can! Every donation makes a real difference.
