At Hull Women’s Aid, we see incredible acts of bravery every single day. We se it in the women who take the first step to leave an abusive relationship, and the children who begin to rebuild their lives in the safety of our refuge.
This year, our staff have decided to show some courage of their own. To raise vital funds for our services, a group of our dedicated team members are taking to the skies in a sponsored skydive!
Why We Are Jumping
While the thought of jumping out of a plane is daunting, it is nothing compared to the fear and uncertainty faced by those experiencing domestic abuse. For over 50 years, Hull Women's Aid has been a lifeline for women and children in Hull, providing safe emergency accommodation and specialist support.
We know that our work is life-saving, but don't just take our word for it. Here is what your support means to the families we help:
If it wasn't for the refuge, women wouldn't be able to leave abusive relationships and could potentially be in a life threatening situations. I cant thank everyone enough for the support I have received all the donations to help us keep going, the people that fundraise for us voluntarily do an amazing job and I am truly grateful, because without them places like the refuge would not exist. The support I have received for my children has been amazing, I feel like I am part of the family.
